We all know that many people in communities across Australia have limited access to the internet, computer technology and learning opportunities. We are also acutely aware that time, money, expertise and commitment are necessary to make a difference in people’s lives.
Well, locals who drop into the Buchan Neighbourhood House are now able to learn new digital skills by participating in their Community ICT Project. As an online facilitator I feel privileged to be part of the team delivering this innovative program.
The effective use of ICT can create opportunities for employment, education and skills development. It can increase levels of self-reliance, bringing improved levels of health and wellbeing, and independence.
